Abstract

In this study, the performance evaluation of photocatalytic building materials, coated with TiO2, on the toluene concentration reduction were carried out in a real scale test chamber. The reduction performances of indoor toluene concentration under visible light irradiation were investigated. The effect of photooxidation using photocatalytic building materials in reducing gas phase toluene concentration was significant than the effect of physical adsorption of toluene on the surface of target building material. In particular, a 48% reduction of toluene concentration was confirmed at the exhaust outlet by the effect of photooxidation.
