Abstract

We demonstrate multi-mode interference (MMI) based optical mode converter for spatial multi-mode multiplexing transmission. The implemented device showed mode-conversion of over 35 nm operation band with less than 0.5 dB excess loss, and full C-band operation was confirmed successfully.
