On gravity induced electric field in space plasmas

Abstract

An analysis of ambipolar, gravity-induced, electric field in ordinary and dusty space plasmas is presented. It is shown that the ambipolar field modifies density distribution of light ions in such a way that, in a part of space occupied by plasma, it increases with the decrease of the gravity field. The presence of dust changes the characteristic scale length and the amplitude of the ambipolar field by several orders of magnitude.
