Abstract
Measurements of radial profiles of ion temperature and plasma flow were carried out at the magnetic island produced by external perturbation coils in the Large Helical Device. The sheared radial electric field and sheared poloidal flows at the boundaries of the magnetic island were observed. The flow along the magnetic flux surface, which appeared when the width of the magnetic island became large, was found to reduce the shear of the poloidal flow at the boundary of the island.
