Hydrogen absorbing alloys of Ti-V-Mn and T-V-Cr systems with a BCC (Body-Centered-Cubic) structure were developed and named "Laves phase related BCC solid solution alloys". The hydrogen capacity of these alloys at ambient temperature is almost double of the conventional intermetallic hydrides. Crystal structure of the alloys and hydrides of Ti-V-Mn and Ti-V-Cr was refined using neutron diffraction. Ti-V-Mn showed remarkable difference in crystal structure in "mono-hydride" to other BCC alloys, while the crystal structure of dihydrides are identical in the alloys studied. Applications of hydrogen absorbing alloys including Laves phase related BCC solid solutions are introduced.
