Abstract

We successfully demonstrated a novel active-matrix panel having an organic light-emitting field-effect transistor (OLEFET) on a Si substrate. An OLEFET, a switching transistor, and a capacitor were integrated into each pixel. As an OLEFET material, tetraphenylpyrene (TPPy) doped with rubrene at 1wt% was employed. The switching transistor was fabricated with pentacene. All organic transistors are bottom-contact-type, using conventional photolithography. An 8×8 display panel clearly showed moving characters.
