Abstract

We propose a novel method of solving NMPC problem for nonlinear systems that include switching behaviors. The effectiveness of this method is confirmed by a numerical simulation of the fuel-efficiency optimization of an automobile capable of switching the transmission characteristics of the continuously variable transmission (CVT). We also propose a method of reducing the difference between the relaxed problem and the original one.
