Abstract
This paper presents numerical simulations of the jet diffusion flames with swirl using L'ES (Large Eddy Simulation) approach for the solution of the Favre averaged Navier-Stokes equations. Calculations are carried out parametrically by varying the swirl strength. Discussions are made on the characteristics of the jet diffusion flame with swirl, the influence of different chemical reaction models on flame structure and the effects of swirl on thermal NO formation.
