Abstract

Generally, water indices for rivers and lakes include chemical indices and biological indices. Special knowledge and techniques are needed for these indices. Therefore, a water color is studied as a simple and comprehensive index. The reflection absorbance is a technique to measure the scattered light spectrum on filter paper with a spectrophotometer after sample water is filtered. The reflection absorbance showed the pollution situation of water and included various informations on water quality. Moreover, it is known that there is a correlation between a specific concentration of the material included in the river water and the absorbance.
