Abstract

Laser with metal complexes have got significant progress recently. New organic material named Nd3+-TFA:HPDA was studied, and laser oscillation was demonstrated firstly. However, due to the low thermal conductivity and low quality of the samples, laser threshold was still high in ns pulsed laser pumping and no oscillation was obtained under laser diode pumping. Presently we investigated on the thermal lens effect of the samples and optimized the fabrication process about the solidification of Nd3+-TFA solution. In results, the residual solvent in samples was reduced, and a thtermal lens effect time constant of 8.4 μs was measured.
