Abstract
An attempt was made to fabricate a NbsSn dipole magnet by adopting “wind and react process” where non-reacted Nb3Sn conductors were heat-treated after wound into coils. The fabricated magnet showed a performance of 88% of its critical current. Detailed fabrication techniques and experiences obtained from this attempt are reported. The effect of bending of non-reacted Nb3Sn conductor on critical current is also described.
