Abstract
A fluorescent molecule, fluorescein, was covered with an ultrathin TiO2-gel layer and the resulting nano-particles were stabilized by additional capping. Electron microscopy suggested aggregation and subsequent capping of wrapped fluorescein. The molecular wrapping was effective for suppressing fluorescence quenching by iodine.
