Abstract

Pressure Sensitive Adhesives (PSA) are weakly crosslinked and have viscoelastic natures. The probe-tack test for evaluating adhesive properties is known to cause very complex phenomena such as large deformation, cavitation, fibrillation in the adhesive films. Recently, we proposed a 2-dimensional model to describe the stress-strain curve and cavitation behavior in the probe-tack test, but we also found a possibility to extend it to the 3-dimensional model. Here we present a result on the development of the 3-dimensional cavitation model in the probe-tack test.
