N2 - In this study, we have developed microwell array devices for phospholipids imaging by scanning probe electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (SPESI-MS) at a single cell level. With a combination of the microwell array devices for single-cell isolation and collection and SPESI-MS, we successfully obtained phospholipids mass information from the surface of a single cell with high spatial resolution. The devices have a great potential as a new platform for single-cell mass spectrometry imaging.
