    Abstract

The authors previously obtained a yield strength of 0. 69GPa in austenitic stainless steel with an ultrafine grain size of 0. 5 mu m. This work extends these studies to stainless steel with an ultrafine grained ( alpha double prime plus gamma ) two phase structure after reversion treatment with 90% cold rolling in order to obtain a combination of high strength and elongation.
