Abstract

U(Ni0.9Pd0.09)2Si2 has a critical composition in the U(Ni1-xPdx)2Si 2 solid solutions, at which the ground state changes with increasing x from uncompensated antiferromagnetic (UAF) to simple antiferromagnetic. We present the results of magnetization, specific-heat measurements in magnetic fields up to 9 T and electrical resistivity under high pressures up to 0.75 GPa performed on a single crystal. At 0.45 GPa, a pressure induced anomaly has been found around 25 K in the ρ(T) curve, which indicates that the UAF phase becomes dominant at higher pressure.
