N2 - The low temperature specific heat of nearly ferromagnetic AFe2 (A = Nb and Ta) and Y(Co1-xAlx)2, and nearly antiferromagnetic Y1-xScxMn2 has been studied. A large enhancement of the electronic specific heat coefficient is obseved for these compounds. The results are discussed on the basis of the recently developed spin fluctuation theory.
