Abstract

Invited for this month's cover is the group of Prof. Tatsumi Ishihara from Kyushu University, Fukuoka (Japan). The cover picture shows the newly proposed concept of an "oxygen shuttle" for a Li-air battery, in which a stabilized ZrO2 ion conductor is the electrolyte, and the red balls represent oxygen molecules that permeate through the electrolyte. Read the full text of the article at 10.1002/cplu.201402041. " ...the new concept of an "oxygen shuttle" using a calcium-stabilized ZrO2 oxide ion conductor as the electrolyte is proposed ..." Read more about the story behind the cover in the Cover Profile and about the research itself on page (DOI: 10.1002/cplu.201402041).
