    Abstract

Supramolecular hydrogels were spontaneously formed by mixing aqueous dispersions of short-"legged" ammonium amphiphiles and fluorescent anions. Energy transfer between donor and acceptor anions was found to be more efficient in the hydrogels compared to that in dilute aqueous bilayer dispersions.
