Abstract

Pediatric liver surgery in developing countries is generally inadequately managed and many lives that can be survived in the developed countries are lost. We have initiated surgical volunteerism and operative collaboration for pediatric hepatobiliary diseases in Southeast Asian countries since 2016. We aimed to contribute to provide our routine management and techniques in Japan and organ transplant surgery to the developing countries where it is currently out of reach. We herein report our successful experiences of starting our international collaboration program in biliary atresia.
