Abstract

A study was performed on spatiotemporal dynamics of intermittency in association with coarse-grained energy-dissipation rate fluctuations. It was shown that with a Gaussian approximation for exponent fluctuations, spatiotemporal correlation functions for coarse-grained energy-dissipation rate fluctuations were explicitly obtained. It was found that the temporal and spatial correlation functions typically decay in an exponential manner for long time and distance.
