Abstract

Contact time dependences of signal intensities in 29Si and 13C CP/MAS NMR have been measured for kaolinite and kaolinite-dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO) and kaolinite-DMSO-d6 intercalation compounds. Cross relaxation times between 1H and 29Si and between 1H and 13C have been estimated experimentally, which reflect the internuclear distances. Relaxation times have been calculated theoretically using reported crystal structure models, and we have discussed the validity of those models.
