    Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyse the hysteresis loss of an iron powder core quantitatively. The iron powder cores with different core density were prepared by controlling compaction pressure, and their hysteresis losses were evaluated to separate the contribution of the iron powder space factor on the coercive force of iron powder core. The hysteresis loss decreased with an increase in the iron powder space factor. One of the reason of the behavior was explained by the heterogeneous distribution of magnetic flux density revealed by the electromagnetic analysis.
