Abstract
We try to develop a method to solve large scale stationary flow problems. An iterative domain decomposition method is applied to finite element approximations of stationary Navier-Stokes equations. A stabilized finite element method is used at each step of the Newton iteration. BiCGSTAB method, GP-BiCG method or BiCGSTAB2 method are used as the iterative solvers of the reduced linear system at each step of the Newton iteration. It is shown that a cavity flow problem with about 1,000,000 degrees of freedom can be solved using hierarchical domain decomposition method, which is adopted for parallel computing.
