In-plane alignment and superconducting properties in high-Jc Sm1+xBa2-xCu3O6+δ thin films

    We have fabricated films of high-Jc Sm1+xBa 2-xCu3O6+δ (SmBCO) using a low temperature growth (LTG) technique. The self-field Jc of LTG-SmBCO film increased with decreasing the substrate temperature at the upper layer fabrication (Ts,upper). From X-ray φ-scan measurement, we confirmed three kinds of in-plane rotated grains in the LTG-SmBCO films. The main peaks correspond to the grain with a [1 0 0]MgO∥[1 0 0] SmBCO. Other small peaks observed from the grain with 45° rotation and 45 ± 8° rotation decreased with decreasing T s,upper. We considered that high-Jc SmBCO films resulted from the improvement of the in-plane alignment.
