Abstract

This study proposes a new concept of alloy design called the 'Laves phase-related BCC solid solution'. First, the multi-phase alloy ZrTiVMn composed of BCC solid solution phase and C14-type Laves phase was designed as a variation of the proposed concept. Second, the multi-phase alloy ZrMn consisting of the α-Zr HCP solid solution phase and the ZrMn2 C14-type Laves phase was developed for the control experiments. Finally, the end members of this alloys were prepared for calculations of the composite law of hydrogen storage capacity.
