We fabricated hybrid sensitized solar cells using ruthenium (Ru) dye and silicon (Si) nanoparticles synthsized by multi-hollow discharge plasma CVD using SiH4/H2 gas mixture. The power conversion efficiency (η) was measured as a parameter of the Si nanoparticles/TiO2 weight ratio to reveal effects of Si nanoparticles on the device performance. The short circuit current increases with the weight ratio. The η of the hybrid sensitized solar cells is improved up to 3.0% compared to 2.4% of the cell without Si nanoparticles under AM 1.5, 100 mW/cm2 light irradiation.
