N2 - This paper discusses a hybrid integrated optical sensor for real-time monitoring of blood flow. This sensor chip is more sensitive than a previously reported compact one and mounted together with a hybrid IC [LD drive circuit and photodiode (PD) amplifier] in a small probe (6.5-mm thick x 15-mm wide x 20-mm long).
