Abstract
Dynamical behavior of steady granular flow was studied numerically in the inelastic hard-sphere limit of the soft-sphere model. Distinctively different limiting behavior for the two flow regimes, i.e., the collisional flow and the frictional flow, were observed. The interactions between particles in the collisional flow smoothly converge to binary collisions of inelastic spheres, while those in frictional flow show nontrivial behavior.
