    Abstract

Multistructure assemblies consisting of porphyrin and gold nanoparticles have been fabricated on an indium-tin-oxide electrode by using alternate gold-sulfur self-assembling. Structural and morphological characterizations of the assemblies have been carried out by absorption spectra and scanning electron micrographs. The results verified that the degree of each self-assembling was considerably lower than monolayer level. The assemblies exhibit clear photocurrent responses ascribing to photoexcitation of porphyrin in the presence of oxygen as a sacrificial electron acceptor. The photocurrent was larger for higher number of assembling cycles.
