Abstract
We experimentally study the statistical properties of sidebranching NH 4Cl dendritic crystals in quasi-two-dimensional growth at low supersaturation. The number density profile of the sidebranches satisfies a simple dynamic scaling law. The average height of the active branches exhibits a power law with exponent 0.86 as a function of time, which is consistent with the envelope of active branches as a function of distance from the stem tip. The average interval of active branches also increases in a power law with the distance from the stem tip.
