Abstract

In recent years, the gamma rays using laser Compton scattering have gotten a lot of attention from the viewpoint of tunable energy, narrow energy spectrum, and high polarization. We describe experimental studies of light output response of some inorganic scintillators for high energy gamma rays using laser Compton gamma rays. The gamma rays energy of 5- 30 MeV were generated using Nd:YVO4 laser at electron storage ring TERAS. The energy spectra were measured using NaI(Tl), GSO(Ce), CsI(Tl) and LYSO(Ce) scintillators. Energy at the peak position was decided by using, simulating EGS5, and comparing it with the experimental data. According to the result, the light output response showed good linearity for all scintillators.
