Abstract
High-density dislocations accompanied by stacking faults are introduced into YBa2Cu3O7-δ ceramics using a solid-state reaction method. Investigation on transmission electron microscopy reveals that these dislocations are created during crushing of ceramics presintered at a temperature near their melting point. A high intragrain critical current density is obtained for the superconductor, which shows that this kind of dislocation serves as a pinning force for the magnetic flux.
