Abstract
A full duplex optical module configuration on a planar lightwave circuits (PLC) platform that suppresses the signal crosstalk is described and its operation on a hybrid integrated optical module using PLC platform operating at a speed of 156 Mbit/s is demonstrated. In this configuration, the distance between the laser diode as a transmitter and the photodiode as a receiver, and its relationship to optical and electrical crosstalk is investigated. The results indicate that the crosstalk increases as the distance increases.
