Abstract

Based on the theory of adhesion, friction between wood and steel can be deal with sum of adhesion force, which is shear force in proportion to contact area between steel and wood, and the effect digging up the wood surface by steel. This paper discusses the relationship between surface condition of wood and friction characteristics focusing on the adhesion force. It is note that the contact area between wood and steel affects friction characteristics, and the area is varied by pressure of contacted surface and before and after sliding.
