N2 - The cffccts of average diameter of Cr precipitates from 0.51 to O.SOjim on 0.2% proof strength, tensile strength and elongation were investigated in 16% Cr bearing steel, in which the amount of precipitates was similar. The 0.2% proof strength was decreased and the local elongation was increased by coarsening of precipitates. Comparing to the local elongation, the effect of the precipitate diameter on the uniform elongation was smaller. The fractography of fracture surfaces revealed that the coarsening of precipitates and the increase of intcrparticlc spacing causcd a reducing in the depth of the dimples. A linear relationship was found between the depth of the dimples and the intcrparticlc spacing by the Fourier analysis to the 3D image of fracture surfaces.
