Abstract

Experimental results are presented for heat transfer and pressure drop during forced convective boiling of nonazeotropic refrigerant mixtures of R22 and R114 inside a horizontal tube with internal spiral grooves. Refrigerant R22, R114, and three kinds of their mixtures containing about 25, 50, and 75 percent bulk molar fractions of R114 were tested. An empirical correlation for the heat-transfer coefficient is proposed. Pressure drop data are also compared with previous studies.
