Abstract

This study examined the factors of learning behaviors that predict university students' learning outcomes including learning performance and self-regulated learning awareness improvement in a higher education institution in Japan. Stepwise multiple regression analyses were conducted with a sample of 70 freshman university students. The results revealed that the learning behavior of changing pages using functional tools (bookmarks, markers), which are related to rehearsal strategies, are helpful for learning outcomes. In addition, the effects of learning behaviors on learning outcomes vary and are related with the different levels of content.
