Abstract

Recently, we have reported the preparation of nano-particles by mixing a poor solvent into a solution of polymer, and evaporating a good solvent. In this report, biodegradable polymer particles containing pyrene (Py) as a model compound of hydrophobic drug were fabricated. The morphology of particles was observed by FE-SEM. The content of Py in the particles was determined as c.a. 10 wt%. By measuring fluorescence spectra, we found that the Py in the particles was distributed in the state of monomer. Py was released about 80% over 200 hours in 10 mM sodium phosphate buffer (pH7.4).
