Abstract

This paper describes a seismic performance of two types of passive control systems for wooden houses. These performances are evaluated by shaking table tests. The test results show that the passive control systems are effective to sustain an initial performance even after experiencing a strong motion comparing to typical aseismic elements, and especially one of the systems which incorporate visco-elastic material has high damping performance through wide deformation range.
