N2 - Patients with atopic dermatitis double-blindly used two types of washcloths while bathing for one week: a low-irritant washcloth (MICROPURE®, TEIJIN, Japan) and an ordinary cotton washcloth (TEIJIN). Then they completed a questionnaire that consisted of 9 questions to compare the use of the low-irritant washcloth with that of the ordinary cotton washcloth. The low-irritant washcloth rated better in six categories: itch, promoting sudsing, pain, ease of handling, roughness, and overall evaluation. As the low-irritant washcloth is made of thinner fabric, it promotes abundant soapsuds, which is helpful in reducing irritation when bathing.
