Abstract

A systematic investigation was performed on photochromism of tungstic acid gels with some organic additives (alcohol, aldehyde, carboxylic acid and ketone). It was found that all of the tungstic acid gels containing alcohols showed remarkable enhancement of photochromism. The enhancement of photochromism in tungstic acid gels is discussed in terms of the photoactivity activated by alcohols.
