Abstract
A plasma production experiment was performed using a microwave concave lens. A large-wave-number electron cyclotron wave is excited efficiently with the lens, and exhibits fast damping. For 5 kW input power, in low-pressure operation, the electron temperature is 70% higher than that without the lens, while in high-pressure operation, the electron density is 40% higher than that without the lens.
