N2 - The continuing explosive growth of the Internet, wireless communication of many forms, and digital storage technology is creating a growing need for high performance, compact, low power consumption and low cost electro-optic modulators. Compared with the traditional LiNbO3 modulators, electro-optic (EO) polymers are a new class of materials, which have been widely researched over the last few years for the utilization in high-speed modulators. Through designing optical waveguides and developing organic materials, we have realized high-performance EO modulators for future optical communication systems.
