    A discussion on the rolling contact under steady speed conditions among all the diverse unsteady EHL conditions covers the optical interference method and measurements of the lubricating film, which yield observations relevant to the development of the EHL theory; behavior of EHL film at acceleration; rapid halting, a process by which the speed being at a certain level reaches the zero level with a large negative acceleration; and EHL film at intermittent movement and speed revision.
