Abstract
The low temperature specific heat has been measured for Y(Co1−xAlx)2 and Lu(Co1−xAlx)2 between 1.4 and 6.5 K. The electronic specific heat coefficient, γ, is enhanced by spin fluctuations in Y(Co1−xAlx)2, while it is suddenly reduced by the onset of strong ferromagnetism in Lu(1−xAlx2)2.
