Edge-Preserving in centroidal voronoi tessellation-based halftoning

    Conventional centroidal Voronoi tessellation (CVT) in an image plane divides the plane into several Voronoi regions. Generally, the boundaries of Voronoi regions do not coincide with the edges of the image. Therefore, image segmentation based on CVT often disturbs the edges. We developed an edge-preserving CVT technique that reduces the disturbance around the edges of an image and the Voronoi boundaries and applied it to non-photorealistic halftoning.
