Ectopic pituitary adenoma is a rare disease which is defined as a pituitary adenoma anatomically unconnected to normal pituitary and arises in sphenoid sinus, cavernous sinus, suprasellar region, clivus and so on. We report a case of ectopic pituitary adenoma in right cavernous sinus. MR examination showed a tumor in the right cavernous sinus ; this tumor had invaded the sphenoid sinus and showed involvement with the right internal carotid artery. Hardy's surgery was performed for the purpose of diagnosis and tumor reduction. Histological findings of the tumor were compatible with those of pituitary adenoma, but no invasion to the intrasellar space was observed.
