Abstract

Waste is a serious environmental problem in Indonesia. The waste based energy production using Waste Landfill Gas project is beneficial in the context of economic and environment aspect. The average electricity production cost from landfill gas project is 808.95 Rupiah for per KWh. This is comparatively cheaper than the production cost of gas turbine, diesel, combined cycle, geothermal sources. The emission of CO2 from the coal, oil, gas and natural gas is significantly higher than the waste landfill gas unit. This finding can benefit the policy making and manage the waste problem in Indonesia.
