Cultural heritage is a valuable asset left to us by our ancestors. Unfortunately, cultural heritage is routinely lost via natural disasters (e.g., earthquakes and tsunami) and man-made disasters (e.g., arson and mischief). Physical preservation efforts have been made to physically protect heritage artifacts. Some artifacts have thus been moved to museums and made available to the public. Others have been removed from public view or left to be closed at their original excavation sites.
